A little about me
I’m Andy the sole owner and head coach at AMG.
As mentioned I am a qualified primary school teacher and British Weightlifting coach.
I have over 6 years of experience coaching the sport and have has amazing success, from coaching complete beginners to elite athletes, including Amy Salt to the Commonwealth Games in 2022 for team Wales.
I am currently the British Weightlifting regional talent pathway for the North and Midlands (ages 13-23)
An active athlete still at the highest level, a British record holder in the snatch, competed at multiple international competitions for Great Britain and winning multiple British and English Championships.
My proudest moment to date is competing at the Commonwealth games in 2022, in front of a home crown in Birmingham of over 3,000 people, something i’ll likely never forget.
My current personal goals are to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2026 & to qualify for the Olympics in 2028
